François Rabelais, a wise scholar with many varied centers of interest, used to visit the village of St Ay, in the neighbourhood of Orléans (to see the map), where he wrote one of his most famous books: Pantagruel.
The Herboretum School® chose to take refuge in this village to open its doors in January 2005 in an exceptional place with a strong historical and cultural connotation. The place is located in the Cosmetic Valley.
The Cosmetic Valley gathers more than a hundred companies of which the activities are related to the perfume and the cosmetic productions. Linked together, they offer a complete and dynamic answer to the world needs for beauty products.

An international Training Center dedicated to the Natural world proved to be necessary. The Herboretum School® show strong objectives assigned to the association: to help transferring the knowledge, to contribute to the transmission and the safekeeping of the learning based on observation and sciences, a reference point for future generations.
It is thus in the middle of a 20 acres park, planted with more than centenary trees and with a collection of medicinal plants regrouped in a Garden of collections, that the School finds naturally its place to teach its practical and theoretical lessons on all the themes related to the plant world and Nature, in a particularly inspiring and favourable green setting.
